Lemon Basil Seed Drink

A refreshing beverage made with basil seeds, fresh lemon, and water, perfect for hydration and appetite control.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon basil seeds (sabja or tukmaria)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup cold water or sparkling water
  • Sweetener (honey, maple syrup, or stevia) to taste
  • Ice cubes (optional)
  • Optional mint leaves or ginger slices

Instructions

  1. Measure and rinse the basil seeds under cool water.
  2. Soak the seeds in 1 cup of warm water for 10 to 15 minutes.
  3. Prepare the lemon base by mixing lemon juice, water, and sweetener.
  4. Combine the gelled seeds with the lemon mixture, adjusting as needed.
  5. Add ice cubes and optional flavorings before serving.
  6. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
